A little while ago I posted a comparison between the three known available Sugarcraft/Clay guns, The Difference between Sugarcraft Guns (aka Clay Guns).

Since then I’ve had several people tell me that they’ve bought the gun and they love it!  So, so far a big thumbs up! Want to hear something even better?  Clay Princess  now have two new packs of additional discs.  Yes it is true!  Can’t believe there could be that many more different discs well check them out here’s Set A and there is also a Set B.

For those of you new to Clay Princess and their products, my favourite moulds are their sculpy range.  Take a good look around and you will soon notice some of these fun creations on cupcakes and cakes alike.  To use fondant in them simply dust with some cornflour or spritz with a little cooking spray.

Just remember once you use the products for cake decorating don’t mix and match them, if you like to use clay also keep the clay used ones for the clay and the food used ones for food! Yep any excuse to have at least two sets of everything!

So cake decorating isn’t only limited to cakes, cupcakes, muffins, cookies, chocolates, all of these mediums can used as a decorating medium or in decorating! Cupcakes are big business these days with popular cupcake towers replacing a traditional cake or being used in addition to a smaller cake!

One new popular feature is the laser cupcake wrapper, these pretty cases aren’t what you bake the cupcake in, they are what you display it in, adding to the design you create or to pretty up simply done delicious cupcakes.

They are more difficult to find in Australia and with the current down turn in the market they become very expensive to purchase from overseas.

When we were all excitedly contacting Dawn at Champagne Cakes about the lower case funky letter cutters, she mentioned that she’d be getting these in. However when I checked even Design-a-Cakes website even they didn’t have pictures. This picture comes courtesy of SmallThingsIced’s photostream on flickr, she has some really lovely cupcake designs worth checking out but I digress… how much fun do these look!

If you are a fan of the daisy/gerbera ones, or the snowflake ones, I’m sure you will want to add these to your tools collection!

Cupcake Savvy is an Australian (Sydney based) supplier of Cupcake stands and other cupcake items!

What’s different about the Cupcake Savvy stands? They come flat packed and are completely adjustable! They come in square or round.

Cake friend mzsweet recently purchased one of these. She kindly dropped round to show me what her new purchase looked like!

mzsweet says…

… the beauty of this stand is its versatility, it stores flat and is simply put together by screwing the solid centre poles together through the plates. You just need a screwdriver for one screw underneath and one on top and its done. It took me about two minutes to put it together. The stand is as solid as a brick and the perspex plates much thicker than my previous shop bought one. This five teir stand can also be a one teir, two teir, three, four or five teirs dependant on my needs so this one stand will serve many purposes. Better still if I manage to break or lose a part I can replace it without having to purchase a whole new stand… the service is efficient and friendly and there are a few other products on offer in the way of cake boxes and bulk buy paper cases so she is well worth checking out…
